We did it!

The 2016 New England Bill Koch League Festival was held with good snow cover, mostly sunny skies, and the majestic White Mountains adding their grandeur and magic above the fields and forested trails of Great Glen.  We welcomed over 470 participants and their parents, sibling, coaches and friends.  Well over a hundred volunteers, plus supporting club members, NENSA folks, District Chairs, sponsors and Great Glen staff joined together to offer a weekend of outdoor activities, competition, fun and friendship.

Thanks to all who came and made this year’s Festival the truly magical community event that it was.  We hope you had a fantastic time and you all got home safely with memories of a most fun weekend with us, and hundreds of other members of the New England youth cross country ski community.

2016 BKL Festival Video

The New England Bill Koch League (BKL) Festival is the marquee event of the New England Nordic Ski Association’s Bill Koch Youth Ski League.  This league has the mission to introduce young people to the sport of cross country skiing with its social, fitness and competitive opportunities.  Local BKL Clubs provide programming for boys and girls in eighth grade and younger, often relying on and including parental participation.

Once a year, individuals and Clubs from all over New England and New York come together at the annual Festival for a weekend of activities centering upon cross country skiing.  The site is determined by a bid process, and rotates through the states of Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Maine.  2016 is New Hampshire’s turn to host and Great Glen Trails is proud to be bringing the Festival back, as we hosted it for over 600 kids, plus their parents, siblings and coaches, in 2012.

BKL festival Logo.jpgThis year’s theme for the Festival is White Mountain Magic!  Activities include games, races, on-skis obstacle course, radar runs, a magical mystery ski tour and so much more! Please check out the offerings and make a plan to join us on the weekend of March 5 & 6, 2016!  Magicians, wizards and witches (good ones) are awaiting your arrival!

Pre-registration is required for this weekend. Click here for details>>

See how much fun we had back in 2012!
